Shimmer All Summer With These 5 Beauty Essentials
Nothing says easy and breezy like a day at the beach. Why not use the same ethos for your beach beauty regimen? All you need are a few core products (and some sunscreen!) and you’re ready to soak up the fun in your favourite Nora kini.
1. Tinted Moisturizer
A good foundation is hard to find. A good foundation with SPF? Even harder. We suggest going for an all-in- one product like tinted moisturizer enhanced with sunscreen. For a long day in the sun, try Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Marathonista. This fan fave product has waterproof coverage plus SPF 40. And with natural ingredients like jojoba, beeswax and even kale, you can feel good about using it on your skin!
2. Sun-Kissed Bronzer
Skip the sunburn and fake the glow. A beach day calls for a light look, not a cakey contour. Keep it simple and sweep some bronzer across your cheeks and the bridge of your nose. Try a luminescent powder like NYX Illuminating Bronzer for a fake bake that makes you shimmer from day to night.
3. No Streaks Mascara
Nobody wants to frolic in the ocean and lose a fake lash. Or worse — the dreaded black streaks! Avoid an ocean faux pas with a beach-proof version of your fave mascara. Trade up from your usual tube, go for Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof, or its drugstore cousin L’Oréal Lash Paradise Waterproof. Your eyes will thank you.
4. Lucious Lips
We love our matte lippies, but the sand and surf maybe isn’t the best place to show off Kylie’s latest. Instead, try an easygoing lip balm with a sheer tint. Our personal fave is Benefit PosieBalm. It’s smooth, moisturizing and gives you a perfect pink pout for summer. If you want to up the ante, try violet LolliBalm or coral ChaChaBalm.
5. Setting Spray
One of the best ways to avoid a makeup meltdown is to apply a setting spray. For a light and breezy look, try Milani Make It Dewy spray. A quick spritz of this will keep you looking beachy and beautiful all day.
